En It
The core of Action 2 is the training of trainers and the co-creation of the working methodology. For this reason, it has been named the “Co-Creation Workshop.” Its innovative aspect lies in involving the target group from the very beginning of the project in defining the methodological approach and the activities that will follow.
The workshop will take place in Galicia (Spain) and will last four days. Participants will include:
• 2 trainers/artists from each partner organization
• 2 representatives of the target group (1 older adult and 1 young person from each country)
The methodology is based on the principle of co-creation: each participant will contribute personal experiences, skills, and perspectives on the theme of water, helping to build the method for the future local workshops.
Expected benefits:
• Trainers: professional exchange, methodological research, enrichment through collaboration with young and older participants.
• Older adults: intercultural experience, sharing memories and practices connected to water, acquisition of new knowledge on climate change.
• Young people: exchange with peers and older adults from other countries, expression of personal emotions related to climate and water.
Tangible results:
• Publication of the first WAVE Handbook, containing the methodology and the outcomes of the workshop
• Production of audiovisual material
A3 – Local WAVE Workshops
The local workshops represent the most extensive and impactful part of the project. They will take place from December 2025 to March 2026 and will form the creative foundation for the final performance (A4).
Each partner will involve 20 participants (10 older adults and 10 young people) who will work with the language of dance and theatre on the theme of water. The methodology, based on theatrical improvisation, will also include the use of water as a scenic and sensory element.
Beyond the artistic dimension, participants will reflect on water as a cultural, historical, and identity-related resource, deepening their understanding of the impacts of climate change and exploring rituals, memories, and practices connected to water.
The total duration will be 4 months, with at least 30 hours of direct activity, complemented by additional initiatives:
• online meetings among groups from the three countries
• creation of audiovisual material and short narratives
• local initiatives exploring tangible and intangible heritage related to water
The three geographical areas will offer meaningful natural comparisons:
• Perugia: inland city with the Tiber River, Lake Trasimeno, springs, and numerous minor waterways
• Porto: major Atlantic city crossed by the Douro River
• Galicia/Kirenia: mountain area particularly affected by climate change
The final performance is the culminating moment of the project. Smascherati will coordinate the action and host the mobility week dedicated to creating the concluding show.
Participants in the mobility will include:
• 4 participants and 1 trainer from each partner (total 15 people)
In addition, 10 local participants from Smascherati will join.
The performance group will therefore consist of 20 people.
Results:
• Second WAVE Handbook, focused on the artistic process and creative pathway
• Full video recording of the performance
• Final summary video of the entire project
