The Uxío Novoneyra Foundation is a private cultural institution based in the Courel Mountains (Galicia, Spain), a rural territory recognised by UNESCO as a Global Geopark and Biosphere Reserve. Dedicated to the legacy of poet Uxío Novoneyra, the Foundation works at the intersection of literary heritage, landscape, and community revitalisation, promoting culture as a living practice rooted in place.
With extensive experience in European cooperation projects, the Foundation has been recognised at national and EU levels for its work in rural culture, heritage valorisation, and sustainable development. Its flagship initiative, the Festival dos Eidos, brings together performing arts, poetry, music, and site-specific creations in dialogue with the natural landscape, fostering local engagement and intercultural dialogue.
The Foundation also develops artistic residencies and community-based projects that combine environmental awareness, artistic experimentation, and social inclusion, involving local communities, schools, and vulnerable groups. Through programmes co-funded by Creative Europe, Erasmus+, and Horizon Europe, it contributes to European research and innovation in cultural accessibility, diversity, and sustainable territorial development, positioning itself as a key European reference in the valorisation of rural heritage through the performing arts.
